Drama season: fall 2014
Just making a list of what somehow caught my attention, but I don't know how many of these I'll actually watch until the end.
They're going to air the "remakes" (because we all know they'll change the story, like they always do) of Liar Game and Nodame Cantabile too, but I'd prefer to watch first the originals (yes, I've never watched them. Shame on me), before ruining them with the korean version :D
Modern Farmer

Trailer
Date: Saturdays and Sundays, 18th October
Station: SBS
Scriptwriters: Kim Ki Ho (Fantasy Tower)
Cast: Lee Hong Ki, Park Minwoo, Lee Shi Eun, Lee Ha Nui, Kwak Dong Yun, Ha Bo Reum
Synopsis: A comedy drama about a rock band that takes up farming as an escape route.
Lee Min Ki is a genius rocker, as well as leader, vocalist, and guitarist of a rock band called Ex-So (Excellent Souls), that he founded together with drummer Han Ki Joon. The cynical Kang Hyeok is the keyboardist of the band, but also a medical school student who is from a family of doctors for many generations. The two will be involved in a love triangle with the lead female. Meanwhile, Yoo Han Cheol is the bass guitarist.
When the news of this drama came out this summer, I wasn't interested: I didn't know enough about the plot, I have a love-hate relationship with Hongki (he's talented, but somehow I've never managed to like him) and I don't like Minwoo enough to watch 20+ episodes. So it was no. Then I check it again and... the plot is okay, there's a guy from Reply 1994... but what made me fall was Kwak Dong Yun, my baby from Adolescence Medley ;_; He's so young and talented ;_; I'm doomed.
Pride and Prejudice/A Lawless World

Trailer
Date: Mondays and Tuesdays, 27th October
Station: MBC
Scriptwriters: Lee Hyun Joo (Late Night Hospital, School 5)
Cast: Choi Jin Hyuk, Baek Jin Hee, Choi Min Soo, Kim Na Woon, Son Chang Min, Choi Woo Shik
Synopsis: Set in the world of prosecutors and lawyers, each with different ambitions and prejudices for and against the bureaucratic system. The hero is a chief prosecutor who enjoys prestige and money, and worked his way up on the fast track because he was smart enough to skip grades to become a prosecutor at age 21. The heroine is a junior prosecutor, known for her dogged investigative skills. She’s more like a detective with a prosecutor’s badge, because she started as a cop and changed course to go to law school and become a prosecutor.
Trying to capture people's attenction with that title, when the actual thing will probably have nothing to do with the real 'Pride and Prejudice' -.- Anyway, we're going to have the rich, successfull, clever young lad who will treat bad the female lead (naive, probably clumsy but funny and blah bla blah) but eventually will end up falling for her... the usual thing. The trailers seem cute enough to try it, and who knows when Choi Jin Hyuk will enlist, so let's try it.
Pinocchio
Trailer
Date: Wednesdays and Thursdays, November 2014
Station: SBS
Scriptwriters: Park Hyerun (Dream High, I Hear Your Voice)
Cast: Lee Jong Suk, Park Shin Hye, Lee Yoobi, Kim Young Kwang, Byun Hee Bong, Kim Kwang Kyu, Lee Pil Mo
Synopsis: Drama series follows reporters for a broadcasting company as they chase the truth.
Unsure. Unsure and suspicious. Unsure because we really don't know much about the plot. Suspicious because Park Shin Hye. Girl isn't even that bad, but often chooses shows that make her no justice and that offend me. Like, Flower Boys Next Door was good, You're Beautiful was awfully long and clichè but it's a classic, Heartstring... mmmh no comment. But after The Heirs I can't look at her face without thinking about Cha Eung Sang (the character she played), who is one of the worst characters ever written. Serial killers are better because at least they're the bad ones and they make sense. But Cha Eung Sang... ugh. Anyway. I can't trust her. On the other hand, Lee Jong Suk usually has good taste, in the last years he's always chosen good dramas, but who knows. For once, I'm deciding to watch something basing my decision only on the scriptwriter. Both Dream High and I Hear Your Voice were REALLY good, so I'm going to try this one too.
The King's Face
Trailer
Date: Wednesdays adnd Thursdays, November 2014
Station: KBS2
Scriptwriters: Lee Hyang Hee (Loveholic, Money War)
Cast: Seo in Guk, Lee Sung Jae, Jo Yoon Hee, Shin Sung Rok
Synopsis: Drama series follows the life of Prince Gwanghae. Even though he is the child of a concubine, he becomes the crown prince. For the next 16 years, until he becomes the King, Prince Gwanghae suffers through dethronement and death threats. Using physiognomy as a weapon, he is able to become the King.
Putting this here just as a self reminder. I kinda want to try it because it's the first time Seo In Guk tries this kind of route, but I find sageouk a bit too heavy for me, so we'll see.

Vediamo poi come procederà appena inizieranno ci riaggiorneremo!

The legend of the Witch
Birth of a beauty
