Spring dramas - Alternative title: I can only trust Aiba

Later than usual, but I like to procrastinate. Also, I watched two dramas after they aired, so I needed more time.
The dramas I watched on air - Kizoku Tantei, Reverse and Boku Unmei no Hito Desu - were quite a disappointment, with the only exception of Kizoku Tantei, which I liked a lot.
This current season seems pretty dull too, but we're only at the beginning so it's too soon to talk.

BOKU, UNMEI NO HITO DESU
I can't even say it was a bad bad drama, and I can see how so many people liked it. But for me it was too. damn. boring. I didn't care about the plot, I didn't care about the main couple, I didn't care about anyone of the characters. The bits in his office were especially unsufferable.
The main couple did not have any chemistry, I still don't get how and when he fell in love with her. Was it just because Yamapi kept telling him they were destined to be together? Is this fact enough to start liking a person? Or did he just... finally know she was the right one and started liking her before actually liking her? Am I making any sense? Anyway, I didn't care about them.
Also, Yamapi can't fucking act. No, wait. Maybe he can act, but he always has the same face??? His voice too is kinda monotonous??? And he's like that in real life too (well, on tv at least), so he isn't doing that purposely for the character. In this specific case, the fact that he keeps the same expression all the time is actually good, since his character says a lot of stupid stuff, and it's kinda funny if he says them with a straight face. But other than that...
Anyway, no good. I fastfowarded the last episodes because I really didn't care.

REVERSE
Not bad, but not what I expected from the person who wrote N no tame ni and Yakou Kanransha.
The mystery just wasn't there. When we discovered how the guy died, there is no surprise. At the end of ep 9 (maybe?) I thought they were giving us, finally, a good plot-twist, but no, it wasn't like that. They tried to shock us with the girl, but she was suspicious since minute 1, so, again, not a surprise.
But, you know, I could go pass that if at least we had nice characters. But no. Everyone was unsufferable??? Maybe the teacher was the only one who wasn't that bad, but the others were bad people or just tedious ones. The main guy? A besotted idiot. His girlfriend or whatever? Burn her with fire. The other friends? They were scum when younger and the death of a friend didn't make them change for a bit (well, the poor souls stopped drinking, but if a friend of yours dies bc he was driving drunk it's not that strange if you don't want to drink anymore?? Even if I think that we are humans and we can control ourselves, so you can just drink ONE GLASS AND NOT GET DRUNK BUT O K A Y).
And maybe it's bad, but I didn't like the guy who died either. He was the typical boy who tries to be liked by everybody, to not cause problems... either he's fake as hell, or he's just stupid.
And the ending was just stupid.

KIZOKU TANTEI
In this dark, cruel world, I can only trust my man Aiba. That's not completely true, because he did that bore of Bartender, but you got me.
After the 1st episode I was not sure about how I felt, because I was expecting something else. Not a silly thing with an Inspector maybe worse than Kazamatsuri from Nazodi, people dressed like idiots and the main character that appeared for maybe 15 minutes.
But with the second one I already changed my mind. It's not a serious drama AT ALL. It's full of stupid moments, that kind of silliness that I like because it's yes silly, but not idiotic. Hanagata was SO dumb it was beautiful, and the 3 servants were the most amazing thing ever. I love them all. The Female Detective grew on me throught the drama, at the start I couldn't stand her.
Kizoku sama was an attractive son of a bitch and I'd love to call him "master". Aiba was good. For the first 2-3 episodes he was a little awkward, but then he got better and became Kizoku. He's also the most beautiful person I've ever laid my eyes on.
The ending was a bit meh, because they made us think that things were in a certain way... but it was ok.
Overall I really liked it! It was a lot of fun.

CRISIS
A simple action drama with not too much plot, that focuses on the question "who are the real bad guys?", since most of the terrorists they have to stop fight against the unfairness of the government and stuff like that. It was quite extra, like I predicted from the trailer.
The thing that bugged me is that we don't really get to know much about the main characters, just snippets here and there.
I also think there's going to be a special or a movie in the future? Since the ending was reaaaaally open.
Oh, Oguri Shun has the face of a man ho drinks too much and sleeps too little, but he's still attractive.

HITO WA MITAME GA 100%
After the 1st episode, I was about to drop it. Because the premise of this drama piss me off.
To be a "real woman", to be considered by others, a woman NEEDS to be pretty. And there's only one way to be pretty! Only one way to be a Real Woman.
If you're not like that, not only you'll never find a man, but you're also going to be mistreated at work. It doesn't mean if you are a genius, if you excell at your job: if you don't "take care" of yourself (where by "take care" I mean "be pretty, put your makeup on, dress fashionably) you won't be liked by your colleagues and by your boss.
But there is also the opposite thing, because they make you think that girls that, on the contrary, use makeup, like fashion etc, only think about that! They can't talk about anything else! They only think about being cute! The main character couldn't make friends at school because she liked science, while all the other girls thought about boys and makeup. Like we're all monocellular beings that can't have more than one interest!
So, to be considered by others and eventually find a guy, the main character starts to try to understand and follow all the various trends. because THAT is how she's going to be a better person.
So, I wanted to drop it. But I didn't. Maybe because I like Mirei too much, maybe because I wanted to see where it was going this mess.
And... it wasn't bad? I mean, it's a drama that you have to binge-watch and even skip some parts, because there are bits about the beauty research" they do, when they reasearch trends, that are boring and useless. There isn't so much plot either. But I still watched in a few days, mostly because I was curious about the "love story", if we can call it that.
The good thing is that, even with those premises, they actually made fun of all the trends for the whole drama. And in the end the girl gets recognized on her workplace because she's good at her job, and finds a guy that likes for how she is. Meaning that you don't need to be "pretty" to live well. Then, the fact that the guy she finds is a total psycho-jerk is a mere DETAIL.
The drama went in a direction I did not expect, so I'm glad I didn't drop it. Still, slow plot and too many boring parts.

I also watched he first episode of "Frankenstein no Koi" but I immediatly dropped it because it was very disturbing. AYANO GO WHY DO YOU KEEP CHOOSING WEIRD DRAMAS.

2014

First of all, few lines where I pretend to be a serious person. This time more than ever, I feel like 2014 was long, like... 3 seconds? It really passed in a blink of eye O_O
It was quite an okay year, for me. I’ve had a liiiiiiittle heatlh issue since the end of 2013, then this summer I discovered what it was (nothing to worry about) and now everything seems ok, so I’m happy for this! University... goes on XD (no, there’s nothing to laugh...). I still have 4 exams to pass, but they’re huge and I don’t care about any of the subjects, so it will be hard. I really hope to finish for the end of 2015. On the bright side, I may have decided (yes, only this year... I know I’m late) what I want to try to do after graduating, so... I’ll cross my fingers!
Now let’s talk about SERIOUS STUFF.

2014 01

ARASHI. After more than one year spent a bit ‘far’ from Arashi, this year, especially during its second half, my love for them fully returned. Maybe less obsessive, maybe more ‘critic’, but somehow deeper than before. I’ve never been enthusiastic about the Hawaii concert, because I saw it, and I still do, like another exclusive event. Even if I know that many non-Japanese fans managed to go, I still think it wasn’t done for all the fans, but, as always, for some of them only. Still, it was an event that gave us so much! They did a lot of special shows and... I’m not saying that now we know them better, but... I saw a different side of Arashi. And, I don’t know, I thought about all the years they’ve been together and felt so emotional ;_; Add the fact that I liked a lot their last album, the singles they’ve released this year and even the dramas the members did (yes, I’m pretending Shitsuren Chocolatier never happened). I really, really like them.

KANJANI8. You know, I’m so happy for Eito. Even if the fandom (both domestic and international) is making me going crazy, even if their last album wasn’t really my favorite, even if I didn’t like some of singles they’ve released this year, even if some of the choices they made were obviously to appeal and please the Japanese public... I. Don’t. Care. They reached the 10th year and they’re finally getting the popularity they deserve. They looked really happy for their anniversary and, honestly, this is everything that matters to me.

EXO. The whole craze about EXO kinda faded. I mean, I like them. But I realized that I actually don’t really care about some of the members (not saying the names, nope~); I don’t dislike them of course, but... yeah, I don’t really care (buuut I love the interactions they have with some other members???). It probably has something to do with Kris and Luhan leaving the group (the other day I saw a post on tumblr and HEY LUHAN I MISS YOU ;_; Kris too, but I was well aware of that from the beginning) and with most of the fandom being crap (I met some very nice people, but some others... eh). Also I have this anxiety about the remaining Chinese members leaving next year, and while a part of me wants to scream PLEASE NO PLEASE STAY, the other part thinks that if they’re unhappy they need to leave asap D: I hope their next comeback will be great and full of happy things >.< (HAVE YOU SEEN MY FAVES KYUNGSOO AND MINSEOK BEING WORSHIPPED BY EVERYBODY THO)

VIXX. Me during 2013: “I need to educate myself about VIXX, they seem so nice and I like their songs”, also “Uhm but I don’t understand why so many people like Leo... he seems nothing special”. LAST. FAMOUS. WORDS. Me this year: unable to decide who my favorite member was for like 5 MONTHS, then received the ‘bias call’ and spent DAYS SAVING AN EMBARRASSING AMOUNT OF PICS OF LEO AND CRYING OVER THEM. Then crying over all the other members. Ridiculous. But VIXX are so... good? I don’t know which word I should use. They are so cute. And handsome. And funny. Siiigh. But, really, starting stanning them was probably the best fandom decision I’ve made this year <3

WINNER. Why. What was I thinking when I decided to watch the 1st episode of WIN. Now I’m doomed. I didn’t know who won Who is Next, if them of team B, but I rooted fot them for most of the show. They were... desperate? XD In a good way. I could see how much they wanted to debut. And they are so amazingly talented, they deserve every good thing that happened to them ;_; I’m still a bit hesitant over Taehyun, but the other 4 ;___; BABIES.

AOA. The lack of Nine Muses and After School activities this year made me really sad, but thank God there were AOA (and a lot of other ggs, eh, but I like them the most). I like them since Get Out (still my fave song of them), but it was after the release of Confused that I saw the light. MY NEW QUEENS m(__)m Sadly there aren’t so many subbed things with them, I only watched the 1st season of Cheongdamdong 111 –which isn’t about them only but about their whole company- and their Weekly Idol episodes, and they are so cute!! Still, I need more subbed things and some kind of variety show >.< And, as much as I love their current style, I’d love to see them playing the instruments again!

HAIKYUU!! I’m not really an anime person. I mean, I like seeing the ones that I somehow link to something (my childhood, or a manga I like) and I’m probably the only one, but I usually prefer watching them dubbed in my language. It’s not good, I know it, but most of the times I dislike the Japanese dubbing. It’s the main reason I’m finding really hard to watch the new Sailor Moon anime: Usagi’s voice is simply insufferable. Also, I rarely find something that interest me; I watched the 1st season of Free because everybody was in love with it, but... it was nothing great. Okay at the point that one day I’ll watch the 2nd season, but nothing more. When I read that this year they wanted to air an anime about volley... I was skeptical. I thought it would have been ridiculous, full of strange and unrealistic things. And, yes, some things aren’t realistic at all (but hey, it’s an anime) but... but!! THE FEELINGS. Maybe it’s because, even if I stopped playing, volley is still important to me, so I was a bit nostalgic, maybe it’s because I love stories about sport and friendship, but Haikyuu really caught my heart ;_; And the characters!! KARASUNO GUYS I MISS YOU. Are they going to do a second season?? I still plan to read the manga, buuuut I really want the anime too! T_T

GREY’S ANATOMY. Obligatory comment about this damn thing. I slowly managed to get to the 10th season, I hope to finish it for January. Anyway, I still don’t get how I survived for... when did it air the 1st season? 2005? So, how I survived for around 10 years without a single spoiler about this show. And I’m not one who likes spoilers, but damn, if I’d known who was going to die I’d... I don’t know, at least I would have been ready??? But no, I cried like a damn baby for almost every season finale. People –mostly my faves- die all the time. And I suffer. Still, I can’t stop watching it.

ONCE UPON A TIME. I have to thank my best friend. Because I dropped Ouat after 3 episodes of the 3rd season, because the whole Neverland thing was awfully boring. But she basically threatened me, so I picked it up again in September, before the beginning of the 4th season. I watched it dubbed in Italian, and it was a brilliant choice because the guy who dubbed Peter Pan had THE MOST RIDICULOUS VOICE EVER, so the first half of the season was a lot of fun! And then there was the Wicked Witch saga which is one of my favorite everrrrr >.< But I liked a lot the Frozen saga? Ice Queen saga? Idk, the last one. I liked it a lot (and I already miss Anna and Elsa ;_;) and I’m excited for the next one! The writers of this show don’t really know what to do with the characters, tho, because they change a lot (look at Regina, going from ‘I’M GONNA KILL YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR FRIENDS AND EVERYBODY ELSE’ to ‘uhm ok maybe I don’t dislike you so much, here, let’s have a drink’), but I enjoy it anyway, I don’t care XD

2014 03

aiba
AIBA MASAKI. Are you even surprised. I know I’ve already talked about Arashi, but Aiba is Aiba. And he has been trying to kill me, in these last months, with all the photoshoots and the promotions for his movie T_T I’m amazed at how gorgeous, spontaneous, kind and adorable this guy can be. I’ve liked him for about 6 years and I’m still amazed XD ALSO HE LOOKS SO MATURE LATELY LIKE UGGGHHHHH ARE YOU REALLY TRYING TO KILL ME.

kura
OHKURA TADAYOSHI. Special mention to this hideous creature who this year decided to go around looking amazing in different hair colors. And who is working really hard for what he likes, and doesn’t deserve what some fans are saying about him.

ayano
AYANO GO. When it comes to him, I’m so ridiculous. I just... really like his face. And his acting. And his personality on tv shows (he’s soooo awkward and cute arggghhhh). I think it all started with GANTZ P.A.? Or with Crows Zero 2? I don’t remember which I watched first. Or was it Surelly Someday?? I DON’T KNOW. All I remember was me going all “Hey good looking guy with long hair heeeeeey”. And then I watched a lot of things just because he was in the cast. Most of the times it went well, but some others... *coff* Helter Skelter *coff cooooff* Subete ga F ni Naru *coff*.

leo2
JUNG TAEKWOON. Forgive me Father for I have sinned. Before knowing VIXX: “He seems so cold, why everybody love this guy”, “I’m not really a fan of his face”. BLAH BLAH BLAH. Two months after: “URGGHDHAGDadasfkagfaDKAHGSDF” *rolls around in a puddle of feelings*. I am the most ridiculous human of the bunch. VIXX are a special case because all the members are precious, but Leo is really... it’s so rare seeing a person like him being an idol, because he’s so reserved and shy ;_; He’s a precious treasure :')

B416AZ2CQAA7CZP
JACKSON & YOUNGJI. Roommate is a show with many boring moments, and the 1st season was a mess in so many ways, but it gave me the opportunity to ‘know’ some very special people like Lee Dong Wook, or to finally know more about Nana’s personality. But the best things were definitely these two adorable kids! They are so cute and funny, and their friendship is so special ♥ Next year I’m going to keep following them (and I’ll look more into GOT7... I don’t like their music at all, but the members –all of them, not only Jackson- seem really entertaining)

Special mentions to my princess Mirei, who’s working more and more blessing us all with her beauty, and to The Hobbit: watching the last movie made me realize once again how much I love the whole Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit saga ♥

Also, books I've read this year. Dramas/music post will come in the next days.

Didn't read it a second time because I'm late~ Happy New Year in advance!

About spring dramas

Spring season aka 99% of my predictions were wrong.

YOWAKUTEMO KATEMASU
Being a sport drama, being described as the ‘successor of ROOKIES’, I thought I’d loved it. BUT.
The drama has, like… nothing to do with ROOKIES. The only thing they have in common is that they’re both about baseball and the teacher/coach has an important role, but nothing else. Which is good, because who wants a copy of something? Not me. But yes, I thought it would be different. Maybe it’s also because of the fact that, especially at the beginning, they were so… weak? No, that’s not the problem, but it seemed like most of them didn’t really care about playing baseball and I was like “Then why are you in the club??”. And their approach to sport was the opposite of mine: not be scared of the ball, trying to get stronger etc. That’s how I’ve always played, so the “If you don’t want the ball to come to you, you can say ‘Don’t come!!’” theory or the whole “We’ll win while staying weak” was a bit confusing, for me. Then I understood that, maybe, it can be a winning strategy, in baseball? I don’t know, since I’m still not fully sure about the rules O_O
And all the mental trips they did while talking about baseball... like defense is science and attack is social studies... like… what the hell are you even saying??? So much talking about nothing, I’d had a headache if only I cared enough to replay the conversation to try to understand it better (I bet that even with 6 more replays, it still would not make sense)

But!! This doesn’t mean AT ALL that I didn’t enjoy this drama. Yes, I can understand why a lot of people dropped it after the first episodes, because it’s veeeery slow. The first half tries to introduce each member of the team, giving to anyone a ‘story’, a past of some kind. It’s the same thing that a lot of dramas do, dedicating one episode to each character and then focusing on the group. Tumbling comes to mind, but there… well, it wasn’t that slow paced, and the stories of the characters were ALL touching. But, hey, we can’t have everything. In Yowakate there aren’t tragedies, or guys with a dark past. There’s just the crazy Kamezawa who is poor and at some point has to leave school (it was a bit of a tragedy, to me, honestly. I liked him so much). And there are so many funny moments, seriously, you should watch it just for them.
Honestly, you should have just a bit of patience, because the last 4-5 episodes are really nice. It feels like they’re finally getting somewhere and things get really emotional (well... emotional for me. I’m a total loser when it comes to these kind of things). But the second half of the drama was really good.

A lot of people were a bit disappointed that Nino chose to do this drama. In the last years, he spoiled us acting in great dramas and movies (not only in the last years, actually, most of the things he did when he was younger were really good too). For this fandom, Nino was like an assurance? “Oh, Nino will do a new drama, it will be good for sure”. But Yowakate turned out to be just an okay drama. Nice, light, quite funny. But not a masterpiece like Ryuusei no Kizuna or Freeter, or a little pearl like Haikei Chichiue sama.
I’m not disappointed or turned down in the slightest, though. Yes, it’s not the best drama I’ve watched this year, but I’ve enjoyed it a lot. Nino had a lot of fun playing his role and you can see it, watching the drama; and this is probably the reason why he chose to do it. He liked the role of Aoshi sensei, a role that he’s never played before. Maybe the big audience prefers cool roles, and I’m sure Japan thinks that Shitsuren Chocolatier was such a better drama than Yowakate. But you know, Nino doesn’t really need to do this kind of dramas, to shine. He doesn’t need it and doesn’t even like it. Yes, Yowakate wasn’t the best drama of his career, but he did a splendid job. The role of Tamo Aoshi was so right , for him.
(Also, how cute is seeing Nino interacting with younger kids?? I always feel like he only hangs out with people 20 years older than him.)

Aaand, the rest of the cast! I’m always very cautious with young actors, because dramas like GTO and Bad Boys caused me the biggest trauma with how bad most of the actors were. They’ll probably get better in the future, I don’t know, but at that time they were... no. So I kind of feared that the Yowakate guys wouldn’t be good either. I knew that Yuto was okay since somehow I always end up watching the dramas he’s in, and also knew that Kanata Hongo was really good (I had never seen his ‘comic’ side before, and he’s good at this too! I loved his Kamezawa, he was totally insane.), but I didn’t know the others.
At the end, I didn’t need to worry, because all the guys were good. I loved Mamiya Shotaro and Yamazaki Kento’s performances (Okadome and Ebato), while I should watch Fukushi Sota in something else because Aikawa was a bit… meh. The others were good too!

So I hope that this drama will have one more thing in common with ROOKIES: that the guys who played the students will become good and famous actors (if you don’t know anything about ROOKIES, there were people like Kiritani Kenta, Takeru Sato, Ichihara Hayato, Koide Keisuke and more).
Oh, and A+ soundtrack.

SHINIGAMI KUN
Okay. I don’t know if I’m ready to talk about this drama. I’ll probably capslock a lot??? Forgive me. Also, there will be major spoilers if you haven’t watched the whole drama.

What I was expecting from this drama: something episodic, cute, weird, with a strange sense of humor (“I’m glad to inform you that you’ve been chosen to die”), maybe sometimes a bit touching... something ala Kaibutsu kun.
What this drama actually was: episodic but not so much, cute, weird, with a strange sense of humor, but mostly PHYSICAL PAIN, DESPERATION AND UNRESOLVED FEELINGS. Seriously.
I started the 1st episode giggling and ended it crying like a 5 years old baby. I wasn’t expecting it to be so sad. Actually most of the following episodes weren’t as touching, but the damage was already done. A drama that makes me cry at the very 1st ep? I’m doomed. BUT you know what really killed me? THE FREAKING SECOND EPISODE. WITH FREAKING HAYASHI KENTO AND THE FREAKING KID AND FREAKING EVERYTHING. It started like a cute copy of Death Note (little info for you all: Death Note was written after Shinigami kun) and ended with me drowning in my own tears. Seriously. I cried so much at that episode; everything seemed resolved, and then... I’m still so mad.
I don’t know many shinigami(s?) but I’m 100% sure Shinigami 413 is the cutest and most precious of them all. Telling you you’ll die soon with that cute smile, he’s so polite! And naïve. And cuuute. Also a bit slow but everyone can’t help but adore him. WITH THAT CUTE HAT! And that sleeping cat-like face. Aw.
“Keep screwing things up and you’ll die, Shinigami n. 413!” and he keeps breaking rules because he’s that good and just wants humans to be happy? He gets beaten up by his supervisor, gets bullied by Akuma, gets scolded by the boss, gets ill-treated by 99% of the humans he meets and doesn’t care. He freaking DIES and he DOESN’T CARE. Because no one died for nothing. How good is he? How kind?
I’m so sad.

And can we talk about his relationship with the supervisor? CAN WE TALK ABOUT THIS SUPREME OTP? Bitchy Queen of the Otheworld mistreated him for the whole drama but she totally fell for him I SAW IT. She couldn’t resist. And Shinigami 413 was so dense, he didn’t notice. She DIED because he broke a rule for the nth time BUT SHE WAS OKAY WITH THAT. Because she was starting thinking like him, that rules weren’t everything and sometimes humans needed their pity and their help. ALL THANKS SHINIGAMI 413. THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL.

AND THE ENDING. IS THAT AN ENDING? ARE YOU KIDDING ME???
They both die, but then they reborn? As humans? And they don’t know each other? But then they meet? And have this kind of strange sensation like “Oh, I feel like I’ve already met him/her”. YES. YES YOU HAVE.
STOP MAKING ME SAD.

Few words about Mirei, Bitchy Queen of the Universe, Flawless Lady of Crows. Crows Zero was about her taking over the world, don’t you know that? Perfect piece of perfection, I adore her. I’m also hideously biased, don’t mind me.

Last but not least, Akuma!
Since until now I’ve been very serious and deep, talking about supreme otps and cute hats, let me start with something shallow: I’m not the biggest fan of Suda Masaki’s face. He’s a good actor, but his face is so-so, for me. But DAMN, AKUMA. Maybe it was the character, maybe it was the silver wig, but he was hot. Like thank you for the view, I appreciated it.
He was such a nice character? Yes he’s a demon who tricks humans to eat their souls BUT has no one stopped to think that he did that because, otherwise, he’d have died? And not everyone can be selfless like Shinigami 413. And he wasn’t even that evil, because, come on. He didn’t eat one soul for the whole drama. “We hadn’t shaken hands yet, it doesn’t count” and other things. He just wanted to annoy Shinigami 413 because he liked him, and just wanted to be his friend. Look at the ending. Look at what he does. LOOK AT HIS EYES AFTER SHINIGAMI 413 DIES. He just wanted to be his friend T_T
Like I said, I wasn’t expecting any of this.
(Do you know if OST has been released? I need the opening theme song)
ALSO LOOK AT ALL THE THINGS THIS DRAMA WON.

BITTER BLOOD
A detective drama with average cases and a bad guy more ridiculous than scary (he likes to listen to classical music while scheming his hideous plans and even while he inflicts pain to his victims. A total psychopathic, he was seriously funny. Also, Takeru Sato has this not so nice toy poodle hair.

But!! I enjoyed this drama A LOT. The characters and their interactions were perfect and terribly funny. Especially the father/son combo.
If you want a serious detective drama ala Strawberry Night, don’t even bother to watch the 1st episode, but if you want something hideously funny, Bitter Blood is the right drama. (aaand there will be a special somewhere in the future!)
(THE OPENING. THE OPENING WAS SO COOL.)

Few words about two Korean dramas I’ve watched this spring too.

DOCTOR STRANGER
I should stop saying “medical dramas aren’t really my thing”, because every time I watch one I end up to like it, so it really doesn’t make sense. This one in particular, was focused on political and personal stuff other than medical things, so it really wasn’t a problem. It was good. Even with that tragedy that Lee Jongsuk’s hair was.
A thing I loved was the ending: for once, no sad third wheels! I wanted Doctor Han and Doctor Oh to end up together since the beginning, so I’m glad they ended it in that way.
Also, this song.

YOU’RE ALL SURROUNDED
At the beginning I didn’t want to try it, because from the trailer it didn’t seem nothing great. And another detective drama? No thanks. Also, I’m not a big fan of Lee Seungi’s works. He’s a good actor and I like him, but all the dramas with him I’ve watched didn’t leave a big impression. In the cast there were more people I knew, but it wasn’t enough to make me want to try it.
And I don’t even remember why I tried the 1st episode. Maybe my sister watched it and convinced me. Anyway, IT WAS GREAT. I loved the 1st episode and I loved the whole drama. It was the right mix of comedy and thriller, with a little bit of angst. And the characters were great too. A drama where the 1st episode ends with the rookie detectives team walking with MCM’s Welcome to the Black Parade playing in the background... has to be good, come on.

Drama season: summer 2014

A little bit later than usual, but I've been busy!
Buuut I've passed one of the exams I feared the most, so now I'll be more free. I still have two more exams this July, but they're easier 8D
(Also, something "weird" happened: remember when I said I was taking the distance from EXO fandom? Well after that, some fandom friends... like... stopped talking to me? Haha. People who I knew before EXO? People that got sucked into this fandom because of me? Uhm, okay O_O I'm not even mad, just reeeeaaaaally perplexed)

Anyway! At first I was happily thinking "Oh, this season there aren't many dramas that interest me"... but... there are 4 of them. And thet's not "not many" at all XD AND they're only the Japanese ones...

Drama season: spring 2014

*pops out from nowhere*
I'm interested in so many things this season, that I hope half of them will be bad so I can drop them >.<
Also, I don't know what to do about Kdramas. I mean, for this post: some of them started at the end of february/beginning of march, so it was too early to put them in the winter post, but a bit late to put them here... I think I'll just write about them in this post.

Fall dramas

Yesterday I finished watching Reply 1994, so it's time of the usual post!
This season... I haven't watched a lot of things, and most of them weren't nothing special. But there were two drama I absolutely loved!

Ando LLoyd - A.I. Knows Love??
I've started watching this drama when it was about to end, and only because I saw on tumblr a gif of Mirei and Yuuko together and I asked where was it from. So basically I've started it for Mirei! Aaaaand she was awesome, she totally suits this kind of characters >.< The drama was... I still don't know? Sci-fi isn't really my genre, I liked Platina Data and GANTZ (it was sci-fi, right?) only because the storyline was really well done and the acting was good. In Ando LLoyd the acting was... nothing... special, and the plot was really confusing and for most of the time I had no idea where the story was going O_O And it was really surreal, but I guess that's the point of sci-fi? But yeah, it was a mess. I watched it without many problems, though, mostly because I wanted to know the end, and see if it'd make any sense XD (Honestly, I'm still confused)
You know what I didn't like at all? That Mirei was in every single episode, and on tumblr there's only ONE GIF of her. (yes she was the highlight of the drama u.u I liked Suppli too. The other characters were nothing)

Dokushin Kizoku
I'd like to know HOW did I manage to finish watching this thing. Boring, boring, BORING. A strange man who is against marriage, his brother who is a Mister Nobody full of women who somehow falls in love with the main girl, and the aspiring scriptwriter who is another nobody. I even liked the 1st episode, but then everything became so incredibly BORING. How. I liked 2 things of this drama: the opening in b&w, and the girl who had to marry the guy played by Tsuyoshi? (I don't know a single name, the only one I know is Haruno Yuki because everyone obnoxiously repeated it for the whole drama). Anyway, I really liked that woman, I wanted the guy to marry her tbh.

Legal High 2
Like I always say: if you haven't watched the 1st season of this drama, DO IT. When tehy announced the 2nd season I was so so happy, because this drama is awesome. Japan's never had a drama like this or a character like Komikado, and words can't express how much I like this man. With 2nd seasons of great things there's always the danger of becoming boring, repetitive, of ruin the original series. With Legal High, nothing like that happened, and maybe for some things I enjoyed this season more than the 1st one. They added great characters, there was a main story that developed through the drama, and some points were SO GOOD (the end of the 6th episode???). And they made me like Komikado even more. Not because he's so ridiculous, so exaggerated he's funny, but because, even with his methods, even with all the mean things he says... he's often right? They briefly showed us that there so much more about him, something that we probably never saw fully. But in the last episode, when he says that, to win, one must love the uglyness of the human kind, and eveything he says in that scene... it was beautiful.
The other characters were great too, the acting was awesome: Sakai Masato is  really a wonderful actor and I'm glad that he's finally being recognized, Gakki has grown a lot, and it has been awhile since I last saw something with Okada Masaki, he got a lot better ;_;
For the first time, I was thinking about writing a fic based on a drama, but then the ending ruined my plans XD

The Heirs
...
...
What should I say? I didn't know what to expect from this drama, but surely I wasn't expecting this mess.
First, the things I liked: the side characters. They were all cute and quite funny. I quite liked even Rachel, who isn't funny and is kind of a bitch, but towards the end she becomes SO CUTE ugh. (and I think the actress and the guy who played the student president got together after the drama??? ;_;) Bo Na was flawless, and I have a huge soft spot for Myungsoo. And the two mothers!! The true otp. I don't want to talk about Young Do, because I love him and I'm still sad for him.
But can we please congratulate with the scriptwriter for creating the two most annoying main characters in the world?? I HATE THEM. I'm so glad they got together because at least no one else will have to spend his/her life with them. Kim Tan is an useless crybaby full of himself who makes a lot of stupid promises and doesn't keep them. He's also arrogant and a douche and I wanted to punch him in the face for the whole drama. Cha Eung Sang was introduced as a sassy girl who doesn't let anyone disrespect her, but after few episodes she becomes a dumb, silly girl who let anyone answer to her cellphone, doesn't have a clear opinion about anything, doesn't know what she wants, is a pain in the ass and thinks only about herself and Kim Tan. Who is Chan Young? Her best friend? Naaah, since she never talks to him. PUAH.
Why is this drama so popular? Why a lot of people want to be loved by someone like Kim Tan? Do people want a boring stalker so badly?

Don't you want to slap him?

Don't you want to hug him?

Isn't she the queen of this drama?

Isn't he a thing that shouldn't be allowed?

Rachel is me when Kim Tan/Eun Sang appeared/talked

WHERE SHOULD I START FROM.
Maybe from the fact that this drama made me feel so many things? That it's beautiful and you should watch it?
To be honest, at first I didn't think it would be as good as Reply 1997, but... it was... actually... better??? While Reply 97 was more focused on the main characters and their love story, in this one all the characters are perfectly developed, and each one of them has his own story, his own 'path'. And yes, the love component is strong here too, but it talks more about friendship and about that period of life when you have to make decisions, to understand what you're going to do with your life. And this talked to me a lot.
You fall in love with all the characters, to the point that you'll ship everyone with everyone just because you want them to be happy.
Sam Cheon Po was my personal star of this drama. They were all awesome and I love them, but he was GREAT. And a special mention for Binggurae too, because I think he's the one who has grown up the most (and also because my heart was in pain everytime he appeared ;_;) He's the most confused of them all, at first; he doesn't know what he wants to do in the future, he doesn't know what/who he loves. But then he arrives at one point where he 'fills all the blank spaces in his life', and that was beautiful ;_;
Am I happy about Na Jung's husband? YES, yes I am. But I would've been happy with the other choiche too, tbh.
The soundtrack was amazing, and I was surprised to see that I know a lot of old korean songs?? Thank you, Immortal Song and idols who cover old songs, thank you.
Oh, and the cameo of Reply 1997's cast was cute T___T
(I'd like to put a lot of gifs but I'm worried to do spoilers, so just go on my reply 1994 tag on tumblr.

Special mention to Yakou Kanransha: it aired at the beginning of the year but I watched only recently: WATCH IT. IT' AWESOME.
